Nutrimetics products are subjected to extensive and rigorous testing. What does this involve?

  1. We ensure that all products and ingredients meet with the Nutrimetics Brand Philosophy: highest quality; naturally enriched.
  2. We ensure that all products meet the Nutrimetics Ingredient Policy (e.g. naturally enriched and no animal-derived ingredients).
  3. All ingredients used in our products undergo toxicological assessment to ensure their safety.
  4. We ensure that all ingredients meet cosmetics and ingredient regulations.
  5. Packaging for products also undergoes road testing to make sure it is suitable for consumer use.

These types of tests are conducted over 30 to 90 days under strict conditions. For products such as Nutrimetics Comfort, we conduct more rigorous testing in conjunction with a medical centre in the UK under the supervision of a dermatologist.

Furthermore, all manufacturers and suppliers undergo quality assurance audits in order to ensure that they meet Nutrimetics’ stringent quality and safety standards.

Dermatological Testing: Standard test to minimise irritation on skin.

Microbiological Efficacy Testing: To ensure product is microbiologically safe.

Compatibility Testing (Product Vs Packaging Material): To ensure packaging material is suitable for the product and that product quality is assured.

Stability: To ensure formulation does not degrade, e.g. separate, change colour or fragrance.

Claims Testing: All claims made should be substantiated and within cosmetic guidelines.

Ophthalmological Testing: To ensure product is safe for eye area, including contact lens wearers.

Does Nutrimetics test products on animals?

No. Nutrimetics products are developed without the use of animal testing and with true care and respect for our environment. Nutrimetics’ Policy on Animal Testing has not changed over the years. We can still proudly stand behind our policy, which states:

‘It is Nutrimetics opinion that sufficient non-animal alternative safety testing methods have now been developed, which make it no longer necessary to perform animal tests on cosmetic end products.

‘Nutrimetics will not conduct or commission any animal tests on any product or ingredient at any time during or after development or launch of the product. Nor do we condone such testing.’

Nutrimetics states that it is environmentally responsible in the development of its products. What does this actually mean?

Nutrimetics has created an environmental policy that applies to Nutrimetics International and Nutrimetics Manufacturing, and details how we will strive to produce high-quality products whilst minimising environmental impact.

Nutrimetics International and Nutrimetics Manufacturing recognise the joint responsibility towards the environment in its countries of operation and will ensure that we continually endeavour to improve the overall environmental performance by:

  • Complying with local environmental laws and regulations.
  • Making reasonable efforts to limit or reduce the environmental impact resulting from Nutrimetics products and processes.
  • Developing products and processes to anticipate and meet the genuine environmental needs of our customers and the local community.
  • Integrating environmental demands into the economic, financial and social forecasting and decision-making process.
  • Assessing the environmental effects during the product development process from the aspect of supplier and manufacturer selection, consumer use and disposal.
  • Nutrimetics has been a signatory to the National Packaging Covenant since 2000 and annually contributed towards the Covenant requirements. Nutrimetics is currently committed to the new Australian Packaging Covenant requirements.
